Can you please explain why and how do you would like integrate spring security with Search Guard and give a overview about your architecture?

Can someone provide a tutorial regarding how to configure a spring-based authentication backend for SearchGuard?
From the comments within sg_config.yml, it seems SearchGuard provides the capability but I can't find any further information.
