Can searchguard be used for only authorization and authentication and nothing else?

Search Guard Version - 2.4.1.12 Elasticsearch version- 2.4.1

I dont want to use TLS for my usecase. I just want authorization and authentication functionality that it provides. Is it possible with the version of searchguard I am using ?

Why would you want to implement authorization and authentication without TLS? That does not make much sense to me since your cluster would still be insecure and vulnerable. For this reason, it is not possible to run Search Guard without TLS on the transport layer.

Also, both Elasticsearch 2.4.1 and Search Guard 2.4.1 have reached EOL and do not get any updates anymore. I strongly recommend switching to newer, supported versions.
