Variable username

When asking questions, please provide the following information:

Hello,

Version ELK → 6.2.4

Version Search Guard → 6

I need to know if it is possible to use any variable that contains the username of the logged in at that moment. It would be for use in kibana in the filters of the visualizations.
Thank you.

  • Search Guard and Elasticsearch version

  • Installed and used enterprise modules, if any

  • JVM version and operating system version

  • Search Guard configuration files

  • Elasticsearch log messages on debug level

  • Other installed Elasticsearch or Kibana plugins, if any

No, this is currently not possible.

You can use the name of the currently logged in user in index names / Search Guard roles:

and in DLS queries:

···
