Also, if I may, check that you have ‘spaces’ disabled in Kibana, we had similar issues with it enabled.

I solved the problem. The first time I started the cluster, I didn’t disable the xpack security and entered the admin password at the basic auth prompt.
And after I disabled the xpack security, I think kibana is still using that admin credential to communicate with elasticsearch. After I changed the admin
password, searchguard works like a charm.
