searchguard.authcz.admin_dn setting in elasticsearch.yml - node or client cert?

I read conflicting posts.

I have mine set to a client cert

for Search Guard

searchguard.authcz.admin_dn:

  • cn=kirk, ou=client, o=client, l=Raleigh, c=US

``

But other posts suggest a node cert. Which is it?
