Search Guard not initialized (SG11)

Hi,

We are facing issues while setting up Search Gurad with Elasticsearch for SSL and Authenticaton features…[This solution suits us because SSL and authentication is completely free with Search Guard - please confirm if this is not correct]…we are completely stuck because of error - Search Guard not initialized (SG11).

Different approaches tried for searchguard installation:

  1. We have tried generating keystore.jks and truststore.jks certificates using openssl and keytool. Also configured the elaticsearch.yml file accordingly ---- but not worked out.

  2. Using Searchguard Bundle - followed all the steps available in https://github.com/floragunncom/search-guard/wiki/Search-Guard-Bundle and executed sgadmin.sh after that started elasticsearch service successfully…when tried accessing https://localhost:9200 - it says Search Guard not initialized (SG11).

  3. Installed the searchguard 2 plugin manually and configured the elasticsearch.yml file accordingly and when trying https://localhost:9200 - it says Search Guard not initialized (SG11).

What we are requesting here

  • Please provide the detailed steps which can help us to setup this, also a sample working yml files and configurations.
  • Please confirm availability of authentication feature with searchguard free edition.
  • Does searchguard works on windows OS.

Your help is highly appreciated…please find below contact email id’s

Best Regards,
