Bump!?
No answer for a month?
A simpler question then.
Will it support it at all… ever?

ie can it still be made to work with the API changes sneaked in in release 2.3.3?
Sort of important to know.

Max, what do you mean? We answered this question 2 days ago. Release date for 2.3.3 will be Sunday 29th May.
ES 2.3.3 was released by elastic on 18 May, thats was just one week ago.

Btw you are very welcomed to provide pull requests to help us out on this.

Cool, keep it up.
Can’t wait to see the official release of SG

I have installed elasticsearch 2.3.2 and following versions of searchguard-ssl and searchguard for a poc.

bin/plugin install com.floragunn/search-guard-ssl/2.3.2.9

bin/plugin install com.floragunn/search-guard-2/2.3.2.0-beta2

I have configured searchguard-ssl and its working without any issues but when i install search-guard-2 and start the elasticsearch then i am getting following error.

[discovery.zen ] [es13] failed to send join request to master [{es12}{h0rWWouBSlytbHb_SfMgtA}{10.52.231.40}{10.52.231.40:9300}{master=true}], reason [RemoteTransportException[[es12][10.52.231.40:9300][internal:discovery/zen/join]]; nested: IllegalStateException[failure when sending a validation request to node]; nested: RemoteTransportException[[es13][10.52.231.41:9300][internal:discovery/zen/join/validate]]; nested: ElasticsearchSecurityException[No user found in this class org.elasticsearch.discovery.zen.membership.MembershipAction$ValidateJoinRequest for action internal:discovery/zen/join/validate and transport type netty.]; ]

Can you please let me know what is the cause. this bit urgent.

Pls upgrade to 2.3.3 and install SG Beta 3 which contains a lot of fixes

If you need help pls. provide your configuration (elasticsearch.yml and sg_config.yml etc …) and make sure you installed Search Guard 2 on every node in the cluster.
