Hi,
We released Search Guard 53.6.0, compatible with Elasticsearch 7.17.8 just now. This release adds a new switch to Search Guard, which defines how index aliases are treated. By default, Search Guard would resolve index aliases to concrete index names. This can impact performance on clusters with a vast number of indices and aliases. You can now switch alias resolution off if you don’t need it, which results in better overall performance.
Note: This only applies to Search Guard. In Search Guard FLX, index alias resolution is off by default.
Thanks for all your support. We wish you all Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
