New install fails on Search Guard not initialized

Hello, we are trialing out your product instead of using the standard XPACK.

I have done a fresh install of kibana, logstash, 2 x elastic search nodes (1 master, 1 data)

I have ensured the ES health is green before continuing.

I have installed 5.5 version of ES and SG, ran the install_demo_configuration script. I have then edited es.yml as I already had a cluster name and a network host, so those 2 values were commented out.

I did this on both nodes in the cluster.

Now when I do the following:

root@ip-172-31-24-53:/usr/share/elasticsearch/plugins/search-guard-5/tools# bash sgadmin.sh -ts /etc/elticsearch/elastic01.actual-experience.com/truststore.jks -ks /etc/elasticsearch/elastic01.actual-experience.com/keystore.jks -icl -nhnv

I run into issues like so:
ontacting elasticsearch cluster ‘elasticsearch’ and wait for YELLOW clusterstate …
Clustername: actual-cluster
Clusterstate: YELLOW
Number of nodes: 2
Number of data nodes: 1

Bare in mind, the default directories are different due to me using the elastic search ansible code, the install demo configuration script was modified to support this.

I reinstalled everything and it worked fine :S

Maybe you were using a node certificate with sgadmin, not an admin certificate?
