Hi all!

I’m just starting configure a SearchGuard+ELK setup and successfully ran ElasticSearch with TLS and authentication.

Now I’m trying to connect Kibana to it.

I need Kibana to also work over HTTPS (in the browser), but can’t find any documentations on how to do it (it talks to elasticsearch over https alright though, just not the browser).

Has anyone done this before? Is this possible?

Thanks a lot!

Dmitry.

Have not done it myself, but there is a whole chapter in the kibana docs on how to enable TLS for the kibana server itself:

> **[Use Kibana in a production environment | Kibana Guide \[8.11\] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/production.html)**

See section “Enabling SSL”

Oh, I see… I somehow mistook it for the cert to authenticate kibana with elastic’s searchguard as a client.

You are in fact right - it works.

Thanks a lot and have a lovely day!

Cheers!
