# How to add new user into elastic search

I disabled the enterprise modules . I want add user into search guard .  
I tried adding user in sg\_internal\_users.yml as guided “[Internal users database | Security for Elasticsearch | Search Guard](https://docs.search-guard.com/latest/internal-users-database)”. But could not log in . Could i get suggestions on that.

there are some “first steps” chapters in the docs that describe how to add new users step-by-step.

For V7 please start here:
